Introducing Shannon Luber of the Louisville Canine Company ...
My name is Shannon Armstrong Luber. It was my love of dogs that led me to found
Louisville Canine Company in 2005 where my mission is to train dogs and their best
friends - You.
I am a professional dog trainer certified in a variety of dog related trainings and skills. I
have certifications in basic and advanced obedience, behavior modification, puppy
development, breed identification, pet first aid, personal protection, police K-9, scent
detection, retrieval, tracking, and utility and am also trained in handicapped assistance
and puppy temperament testing.
Prior to working with dogs, I earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of
Kentucky and worked in public relations, marketing, and pharmaceutical sales for 13
years. However, I became overwhelmed with the knowledge that many people gave their
dogs away because they could not deal with fairly simple behavioral problems such as
housebreaking. It was very upsetting to me that someone could discard a canine family
member because of a problem that, with some consistency from them, could be remedied.
So I decided I wanted to make a difference. By working with dogs and educating their
owners more dogs could stay in their homes and out of shelters.
Louisville Canine Company’s standard rate for an in-home lesson is $60. We also offer
residency training programs with comprehensive training for the dogs. In those cases I
will take a dog into my home and design a specific training program followed by lessons
with the owner.
